Carly Day - Clinic Partner

Revive's principle sports rehabilitation specialist, Carly, has been practicing at Revive for three years.

Graduating with a BSc. (Hons) degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention, Carly has been practicing in the Hertfordshire area for five years.

While studying at Middlesex University in North London, she spent three months gaining experience working in a multi-disciplinary private injury clinic, a number of months at Leyton Orient Football Club emphasising football related functional rehabilitation.  She then went on to work with Hemel Stags Rugby League Team for three seasons administering emergency aid for acute injuries.  From 2005, she began to work closely with Doctors specialising in environmental medicine at Breakspear Hospital progressing to offer treatment as a Rehabilitation Specialist.

Carly started work at Revive Sports Rehabilitation and Acupuncture Clinic in 2008 offering private injury consultations and treatments.  Over the last two years, she has added Pilates instruction to her skill set after extensive training with Stott Pilates at the YMCACentral.

Carly has a specific interest in tensional release with corrective stretching and conditioning thus facilitating optimal alignment and function. She is eager to help people realise the full potential of their bodies through education and modification of activities.

  Lily Lai - Clinic Partner

 

Revive's principal Acupuncturist and Chinese medical herbalist, Lily, joined the clinic in 2005 and has been co-managing the clinic with Carly since 2009.

Lily's clinical training was completed with a 5 year degree course run jointly by Middlesex University and the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and she has clinical experience from a variety of settings including Beijing national hospitals, the Whittington Hospital NHS Pain Clinic and private Chinese medical clinics in London and in Manchester.  She is fully registered and insured with the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine, the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Therapists.  

Lily's specialist interest is in treating gynaecological conditions, female and male fertility as well as stress-related disorders such as eczema, migraine and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  Alongside her clinical work, Lily is also conducting a PhD research project investigating the effects of Chinese herbal medicine on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a common metabolic and reproductive disorder found in women.

Lily has developed a sound and ethical basis to practicing Chinese medicine and her caring and attentive approach has been well received by patients.

Richard Brodersen - Osteopath

Richard is a fully qualified Osteopath and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council. He practises structural and functional Osteopathy for musculoskeletal conditions.  He studied Osteopathy on a five-year degree programme at Middlesex University and graduated with an honours degree in Osteopathy. This rigorous course gives a thorough grounding in anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment techniques. Richard also studied specialist modules in Naturopathy and Visceral Osteopathy.

Richard has gained a broad experience in private practice, working in clinics in London, St. Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hemel Hempstead. He has also worked with patients from a diversity of backgrounds and has treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Richard attends regular training courses to stay abreast of the latest advances in Osteopathy. He has also completed a postgraduate course in modern acupuncture for pain relief. In his spare time Richard is a keen cyclist and practises yoga on a regular basis.

 

Emma Caple - Associate Sports Massage Practitioner

Emma is a Graduate Sports Therapist having received her degree from Chichester University in 2006.  Since graduating Emma has provided sports massage to members of the public as well as to local football players whilst working with different teams.  Also a qualified fitness instructor, Emma uses her exercise prescription knowledge alongside her massage to help with the rehabilitation of injuries.  She particularly likes to use deep tissue massage around the back and shoulder areas where a majority of people carry their stress.  Whether you exercise socially, compete to an international level or suffer from aches associated with your occupation, Emma believes sports massage is of benefit to you.

 

 

Lucinda Cracknell - Massage Therapist

Lucinda is trained in Oil Massage, Indian Head Massage and Pulsing and has recently returned from Thailand where she learnt Traditional Thai Massage.  Her work is based in the belief that compassionate touch is a basic human need and aims to treat physical manifestations of emotional distress.  She provides a secure and nurturing space for clients to get back in touch with themselves and their bodies.  Lucinda is a member of the Complementary Therapies Association and holds full professional insurance with the Holistic Insurance Services.  

Lucinda is fascinated with the link between the body and the mind and the concept of influencing emotional and psychological wellbeing through bodywork.  She also holds a degree in Physiology which is the base of an interest in diet and nutrition.  She is training to teach massage with Jade College in Bedford and hopes to extend her skills to talking therapies in the future.

Karen Chan - Acupuncturist and Chinese Medical Herbalist

Karen completed a full-time 4 year degree programme in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Middlesex University, the same institution where Lily undertook her initial training.  This course provided intensive training on Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine along with nutrition and western biomedicine.  During her time in university, Karen completed clinical training at the Asante Academy of TCM, NHS pain clinics in North Middlesex University Hospital and Whittington Hospital.  She is fully insured and registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).

Karen has a special interest in male and female fertility, gynaecological conditions, musculoskeletal and dermatological conditions.  She has also undertaken postgraduate training for acupuncture in fertility with the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwick and is a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN), a specialist interest group for acupuncturists dedicated to supporting those with fertility issues.  She offers specialist acupuncture treatment for gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), for couples undergoing IVF and male fertility issues such as low sperm count and morphology.

Kelly Jager-Cohen - Beauty Therapist

Kelly is a fully qualified beauty therapist with over 10 years experience in the industry.  She is always on the lookout for the next revolutionary treatment and constantly updating her skills to keep up with this fast moving industry, Kelly believes this is why her clients move with her instead of moving on!
